PDF versionThe success of a project depends on the quality of its design and objectives, of its products as well as of the implementation process and its management. The achievement of these prerequisites is based on the qualitative cooperation and communication within the project team and between partners. Thus the quality assurance and evaluation of the cooperation and communication process will secure the achievement of the projects' goals and objectives and the realisation of qualitative outputs.
The external evaluation of the European Project CAT is secured by evalux Agency for Evaluation, Research and Consultancy. evalux is a service oriented company focusing on evaluation and quality assurance of programs and projects thematically related to society, education, culture and international cooperation. Direct responsibility for the external evaluation process has been assigned to Diana Mirza-Grisco, an evaluator with several years of experience in (international) project management, research and evaluation. The external evaluator will secure the quality of the project through the assessment of the cooperation and communication processes between partners and, if needed, through improvement recommendations given to the management.
Objectives and products of the external evaluation and QA
The objective of the evaluation is to identify and draw attention to process-related challenges and risks, to secure an effective cooperation within the project through screening in between meetings (evaluating communication, i.e. e-mails, on-line platform) and providing support during the meetings (to meet the established deadlines, moderation, organising feedback rounds, etc.), thus increasing the accountability of partners and maintaining a high quality of the process.
The external evaluator will provide real time information on the implementation process, on what is working well and what not, on communication and cooperation patterns between partners. Thus, securing the timely realisation of project activities and smooth cooperation between partners.
Full reports of the meetings (cooperation reports) and interim reports (orally or in written form) on in-between meetings screening will be provided regularly.
How will the QA and evaluation be realised?
The evaluation and quality assurance has three main components:
- the screening of the cooperation process in between meetings
- the evaluation/assessment of cooperation and communication during meetings
- providing recommendations on measures to improve and to make the cooperation/communication more efficient
The external evaluator, Diana Mirza Grisco, will assist the cooperation process through standardised observation, application of surveys (questionnaires), organisation of evaluation feedback rounds at each meeting, documentation and assessment of cooperation between meetings and oral/written analyses of the cooperation process. On demand, the evaluator will also support the project management in moderating the meetings or providing consultancy in general management issues.
